Graphic Design Final

My Favorite Projects Typography Graphic My 3rd favorite project was the typography projects. We found some of our favorite quotes that were meaningful to us and then made a graphic design out of it. The project took about 2 weeks. Some challenges I faced were just trying to find the right color schemes for each of my graphics. Some new skills I learned were how to use different types of pens to create different styles of strokes and textures. I took feedback on my color schemes. I changed the style of the spider because it did not work well when I filled it in with color. I think overall it turned out pretty well I think there is some room for improvement though.  Concert Advertising  My 2nd favorite project was the concert advertisement. What we had to do was pick an artist or musical artist and create a poster, tickets, and poster. This project took about 3 weeks. Short Film

What I Learned I worked on the "Victoria" I learned that sometimes you need to problem solve last minute and I learned how to do that because 2 actors quit on us. We got replacements fast and made an effective schedule that works for everyone. I also learned how to organize everything better to make everything easier.  What I Would Do Differently I would have picked different actors who were reliable the first time so we did not have to spend a lot of time just worrying. I also would have changed the volume in some shots the car scene needed to be quieter and the coffee scene needed the audio of the dialogue to be louder. Also next time to make sure there is no jump cuts.

Trailer

Pre-Production For this project we got assigned groups to recreate a movie trailer. My group chose Napoleon Dynamite because it was short, easy and, funny. After we decided on our movie we had to story board and fill out the beat sheet. The hardest part was casting because it was hard to find a time everyone is free or just people who wanted to be in it and fitted the character.  Production We filmed for about a week and a half and getting the school shots was easy and we got those done with fast during school. It was hard to schedule the out of school shots but we got it done.  Post Production New things I learned with premier was editing the speed of a video to have shots slowed down and I also used a filter to make it seem more cinematic. I also used audio effects to try and fix the sound from the wind. That would be one thing I would do differently is to do more research on how to get rid of the wind sound better and fixing the slow motion walking part. I would keep the

Vector Portrait

Pre-Production I chose a picture of myself because I just thought that would be cooler seeing myself as the subject. Also I do not have any pets so I could not do that and I know my parents would not want me to make of them. I picked a headshot my friend took of me in downtown Kansas City because that is my favorite picture of myself. Once I downloaded that picture I cropped it so it was just my head mainly and then I used posterization so I could see the different values better. Then on Illustrator I made two art boards one has the picture with 100% opacity and then that same picture on the other board but with 80% opacity. Production I learned during this project I learned how to use the curve tool better and how to make sure everything is layered right. I also learned how to use layers to my advantage to make the process faster so I didn't have to exactly trace over every value. Music Video

About The Project For this project we had to choose a music video to recreate. My group decided to recreate "Young Dumb & Broke'" by Khalid. First we had to make a story board, film scape and beat sheet. Then we went out to film. Then we edited it.  What I Learned During this project I learned how much work it actually takes to make a music video. My job was being the director. As the director I blocked scenes and I also learned how to be a better leader and taking the lead in decision making. I learned how to use color correction a lot better. I also learned how to use some shortcuts so I can edit faster. I also learned how to use white balance in post production. I also learned how to slow down and speed up clips. Typography

Pre-Production First we had to pick quotes that represented ourselves. I picked one that represented volleyball and another that represented marvel because I have always been obsessed with superheroes and those movies. Then I picked a app one because I feel like and I have always been told I am a very happy person I smile most of the time and laugh at almost everything. Then I picked one that represented music because music has always been a big part of my life. Then I picked fonts that fit more of the tone of the word like what it means. I also tried to stick with a theme for all of them. Like for the marvel one I picked the marvel specific fonts.  Production I learned how to change the texture of the pen tool when I was making the music quote one and the volleyball inspired one for the border. Semester 1 Final

Reflection This semester I have learned a lot. Like using Photoshop and Illustrator. I like Photoshop personally because it is a lot easier to learn and I like photography and editing my photos better than making graphics on Illustrator. My two favorite Photoshop projects have been one of the first ones we did, which is the "Nature Man" one. I also really liked the Panorama one. Nature Man For this project we were given a picture of this man and a bunch of nature pictures. We had to put them together by using clipping masks to create a "Nature man". I do not remember how long this took because we did this project at the beginning of the year. I had trouble just getting started and trying to decide what I wanted my vision for him to be. I honestly just played around with it until I made something I liked. I learned how to use photoshop a lot better like using those clipping masks to put more than 1 picture together to create just one picture. The feedback
