Feature Story


Overview Of The Project

For our project in video we were assigned a partner, then we had to make a featured story about something about them. First we just got to know the person and we just talked for one class period. While talking to Blake (who was my partner) I took some notes about him to figure out what story I should do about him. Then I tried to come up with top 3 topics then I tried to come up with questions and the one I could come up with the best and most questions became my featured story. My featured story was finalized to be about Blake working at AMC. First I came up with a list of 21questions I could ask him. Then I decided to get some B-Roll at AMC the following weekend. During class while I was waiting for the weekend to come I made a lower third. After I got B-Roll I Interviewed Blake at ONW in the Auditorium. We chose that place because we couldn't find a quieter place that also had good lighting at AMC. After the Interview I edited my videos of the interview together and picked what parts I liked best. After that I wrote and recorded my voice overs. Then I put the B-Roll in to finish my Project. 

Reflection

I learned that for my interview I shouldn't wing it because I had trouble kind of having more questions to ask him and which questions I should ask. I also talked while he was talking a few times so I had to cut out those parts. That is also what I would do different. I would keep my voice overs the same because I thought they were pretty good and flowed together well. Since this was my first story I will remember to try not to trick the audience and also cover jump cuts with B-Roll.

Graphic Design Final

My Favorite Projects Typography Graphic My 3rd favorite project was the typography projects. We found some of our favorite quotes that were meaningful to us and then made a graphic design out of it. The project took about 2 weeks. Some challenges I faced were just trying to find the right color schemes for each of my graphics. Some new skills I learned were how to use different types of pens to create different styles of strokes and textures. I took feedback on my color schemes. I changed the style of the spider because it did not work well when I filled it in with color. I think overall it turned out pretty well I think there is some room for improvement though.  Concert Advertising  My 2nd favorite project was the concert advertisement. What we had to do was pick an artist or musical artist and create a poster, tickets, and poster. This project took about 3 weeks. Semester 1 Final

Reflection This semester I have learned a lot. Like using Photoshop and Illustrator. I like Photoshop personally because it is a lot easier to learn and I like photography and editing my photos better than making graphics on Illustrator. My two favorite Photoshop projects have been one of the first ones we did, which is the "Nature Man" one. I also really liked the Panorama one. Nature Man For this project we were given a picture of this man and a bunch of nature pictures. We had to put them together by using clipping masks to create a "Nature man". I do not remember how long this took because we did this project at the beginning of the year. I had trouble just getting started and trying to decide what I wanted my vision for him to be. I honestly just played around with it until I made something I liked. I learned how to use photoshop a lot better like using those clipping masks to put more than 1 picture together to create just one picture. The feedback ...

Printing Process

Relief Relief printing process is when someone draws a picture into a wooden block or lithium metal. Then they use a roller that has ink all over it, then covers it with ink. Then they will put a piece of paper flat on the wooden or metal block. Then they use a roller to flatten out and press the paper on the carved block then you peel the paper off the block and then your done. You can carve the block by useing a chemical then drawing a sketch on a piece of paper then tracing it into the block with pen or sketch it out on the block and use different types of carving tools.  Intaglio This print process starts with a plate of medal which goes through a cleaning process then it gets some ground applied which is a combo of asphalt and rosin then it is spread all over the surface of the medal plate.
