Watercolor Transfer Prints

The Process

First I chose a project and I chose the Pop Art project. I cropped it and made two copies. One is color and one is black and white. I printed them out on the same sheet of paper. Then I cut both of my graphics out. Then I took a piece of water color paper and tore it in half. Then I used water color paint and brushes to paint my water color paper. I decided I wanted one warm colors and the other cold colors. I used blue and purple for my cool colors and I just was making different streaks horizontally with the two colors. I did the same with the other one just with yellow, orange, and yellow. Then I let them dry overnight. After that I took my prints that I printed out earlier and I covered both of my prints with mod podge on the front side. Then I placed it upside down on the water color paper trying to get it centered as close as I can. Then once I did that to both I used a squeegee and I just slid it on the paper to get out the access mod lodge without trying to get it on the water color paper. Then I let it dry overnight. After that I took some water and covered the whole back side of the prints with water and rubbed the paper off to reveal my transfer print. You want it to be as smooth as it can be without any white pieces. Then once you have done that to both you are done!

Reflection

Overall this project was pretty simple and easy. The part I struggled with was just making the water color look good. One of them I messed up really bad by adding black and the other turned out ok. Also the process was just very long and took days. I do like how my warm colors one turned out and I might try to do it again in the future.

Graphic Design Final

My Favorite Projects Typography Graphic My 3rd favorite project was the typography projects. We found some of our favorite quotes that were meaningful to us and then made a graphic design out of it. The project took about 2 weeks. Some challenges I faced were just trying to find the right color schemes for each of my graphics. Some new skills I learned were how to use different types of pens to create different styles of strokes and textures. I took feedback on my color schemes. I changed the style of the spider because it did not work well when I filled it in with color. I think overall it turned out pretty well I think there is some room for improvement though.  Concert Advertising  My 2nd favorite project was the concert advertisement. What we had to do was pick an artist or musical artist and create a poster, tickets, and poster. This project took about 3 weeks. The challenges I faced were just trying to figure out how to put ever single piece of information ...

House Project

The Project So for this project we used sketchup and we had to make a model of a house we found on houseplans.com. This let us learn sketchup more and how to use different techiques in sketchup. The Process First we had to find a house then we had to look at the measurements of the house. I first just made a big block then I shaped it to look like my house. Then once I just got the shape of my house I added a porch and stairs. Then I started adding windows, doors and stuff like that. Then finally I looked back at my house and just tried to compared them and I added extra details that I forgot to do. Then after that I made an animation of giving a tour of my house.  I used this texture for my porch I used this texture for my house. What I Learned I learned how to use sketchup and different tools and techniques within sketchup. Like the push and pull tool to make a shape different heights. Then I learned how to use the orbital tool to move the camera an...

Semester 1 Final

Reflection This semester I have learned a lot. Like using Photoshop and Illustrator. I like Photoshop personally because it is a lot easier to learn and I like photography and editing my photos better than making graphics on Illustrator. My two favorite Photoshop projects have been one of the first ones we did, which is the "Nature Man" one. I also really liked the Panorama one. Nature Man For this project we were given a picture of this man and a bunch of nature pictures. We had to put them together by using clipping masks to create a "Nature man". I do not remember how long this took because we did this project at the beginning of the year. I had trouble just getting started and trying to decide what I wanted my vision for him to be. I honestly just played around with it until I made something I liked. I learned how to use photoshop a lot better like using those clipping masks to put more than 1 picture together to create just one picture. The feedback ...
